R. Shakti Allen – M.A.; CCC

Managing Director

Shakti is a mother, stepmother, mother-in-law and grandmother who brings a reflective, soul-centered approach to her work. Guided by the belief that healing begins with self-awareness and mindful connection, she helps clients navigate life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. With over 35 years experience as a social worker and counsellor, Shakti combines practical wisdom with tools learned from a Master’s degree in Counselling. She offers a grounded and intuitive approach to healing. Her practice draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and EMDR and many other tools to support trauma recovery and personal growth. Shakti works with individuals, couples, and families.

Shannon Harris

Shannon Harris is a Registered Psychologist with many years of experience in addressing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. Shannon works with clients of all ages, including children and teens, in Barrhead and Westlock, with evening availability.

Karen Ladan

Karen Ladan is a seasoned counsellor with over 30 years of experience helping others, including 10 years with Child and Family Services and 20 years as a school counsellor. She specializes in issues like depression, anxiety, and grief. Karen invites emotional support dog, Mardy, into sessions. Karen works in the Barrhead office.

Josée Frigon, MSW, RSW

Josée is a licensed social worker with over ten years of experience. She offers counselling services to diverse individuals, emphasizing social justice and creating an empathetic environment. As an eclectic practitioner, she customizes interventions for older adults and does not accept clients under 18. Josee works in the Westlock office.

Nicole Mulligan, Counselling Intern

Nicole Mulligan is a practicum counsellor completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Athabasca University, with a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University. She provides counselling for youth (12+) and adults, using a flexible, client‑centered approach informed by multiple therapeutic modalities to support insight, growth, and meaningful change.
